An interpretive publication of the archaeological and rock art site of Piedras Pintadas, located along the San Dieguito River north of San Diego in southern California. This booklet (printed on recycled paper) has been designed and written specifically for children (and their parents) to teach them the importance of caring for and respect Indian places and rock art sites. Written in story form about a young girls discovery of and visit to a local rock art site, Piedras Pintadas. The girl and her family visit the archaeological site and learn about the Kumeyaay Indians and their culture in the company of a Kumeyaay Indian, and an archaeologist.
