For thousands and thousands of years people have lived, fished, and celebrated their spiritual beliefs near the thundering waters of Celilo Falls. The falls, a major Indian fishing ground since prehistoric times, were inundated in 1957 by the filling of the pool behind The Dalles Dam. Between 2000 and 2007 a team of professional archaeologists and volunteers scientifically analyzed and recorded 10 rock art sites near Wishram, Washington. This important volume presents the information gathered during the project including many of the actual images themselves.
